Rome and Lazio: 2025 Celebration of Saint George at the Church of San Salvatore in Lauro. Constantinian Knights and numerous authorities gather in Rome to honor the Patron Saint

On April 23, 2025, against the picturesque backdrop of the Church of San Salvatore in Lauro in Rome, a solemn Eucharistic celebration was held in honor of Saint George the Martyr, Patron Saint of the Constantinian Order of Saint George. The event drew a large turnout of Knights and Dames from the Delegation, alongside numerous civil, military, and diplomatic authorities.

The Holy Mass was presided over by His Most Reverend Excellency Monsignor Edoardo Aldo Cerrato, Bishop Emeritus of Ivrea. In his homily, he emphasized the modern relevance of Saint George’s Christian witness as a figure of courage and unwavering faith, capable of inspiring the actions of the Order’s members in today’s world.

The ceremony was attended by the Grand Chancellor, His Excellency Prince Don Francesco Ruspoli, Prince of Cerveteri; the Secretary General, Don Paolo Costantino Borghese, Prince of Nettuno; the Delegate for Rome and Lazio, the Noble Marquis Giuseppe Ferrajoli, joined by the Vice Delegate for the Lazio provinces, the Noble Prof. Adv. Franco Ciufo, and the personal Representative of the Grand Master for the City of Gaeta, Attorney Salvatore Scafetta. Other notable attendees included the Ambassador of Austria to the Holy See, His Excellency Marcus Bergmann; Admiral Fabrizio Ratto Vaquer; Countess Milena De Magistris Von Rex, member of the Council of the Rome and Lazio Delegation; General S. Palazzo; Major Samuele Maria Giorgio; and Knight Fabio Cassani Pironti, an official of the Vatican Secretariat of State.

The world of volunteering was represented by Dame Maria Grazia Passeri, President of the “Salvamamme” association, which supports mothers in difficulty. Representing the President of the Lazio Region, Francesco Rocca, was the Regional Councillor for Culture, Equal Opportunities, Youth and Family Policies, and Civil Service, Dr. Simona Renata Baldassare, demonstrating the regional institutions’ closeness to the Order’s activities.

Also present was Lieutenant General Andrea Taurelli Salimbeni, representing General Salvatore Luongo, Commander General of the Carabinieri. Traveling from Argentina were Delegate Dr. Adriano Alimonti and Vice-Delegate Dr. Nunzia Locatelli Bulgheroni.

The celebration of Saint George was not only a liturgical moment of deep spiritual intensity but also an important occasion to publicly reaffirm the Christian and charitable values that drive the Constantinian Order of Saint George. A powerful sign of unity, faithfulness to the Church, and service to others.
