Rome, June 1st, 2026 – The solemn ceremony for the presentation of honors and decorations to officers and section heads of the various departments of the Defense General Staff took place at Palazzo Esercito, headquarters of the Defense General Staff. The honorary distinctions were conferred by the Secretary General of the Sacred Military Constantinian Order of St. George, H.E. Prince Don Paolo Costantino Borghese.

The ceremony was attended by Lieutenant General Salvatore VERGARI – Director of the General Office of the Administrative Responsibility Center of the Defense General Staff; Vice Admiral Davide BERNA – Joint Cyber Command Commander of the Defense General Staff; Lieutenant General Bruno PISCIOTTA – Head of the General Planning Department of the Defense General Staff; Lieutenant General Francesco BRUNO; Major General Andrea ARGIERI – Head of the 3rd Department (Strategic Direction and Military Cooperation) of the Defense General Staff; Major General Liberato AMADIO – Head of the 4th Logistics Department of the Defense General Staff; Major General (Med.) Mauro DE FULVIO – Medical Consultant to the Chief of the Defense General Staff; Brigadier General Francesco RIZZO – Director of the Defense Veterans Center: currently Knight of the Constantinian Order, invested with the rank of Colonel; and Colonel Alessandro SPISSU – former Commander of the “Lancieri di Montebello 8th” Regiment and key contributor to the Veterans Carriage Project and CRE.
