On behalf of the Calabria Delegation, Knight of Merit Vito Michele De Caro and Knight of Grace Antonio Oliverio, together with Major Alessio Fiorentino and Lieutenant Mario Castrignano, Benefactors of the Constantinian Order serving at the Harbour Master’s Office of the city of Crotone, donated to the “Padre Pio” popular canteen an amount of chicken meat sufficient to prepare approximately 250 meals, as well as 6 kilograms of minced meat.
This relationship has been further strengthened by the constant and heartfelt attention shown towards our Order by Monsignor Pancrazio Limina, President of the Cathedral Chapter of the Archdiocese of Crotone-Santa Severina and Dean of the local clergy, as well as founder of the “Padre Pio” popular canteen, which is now approaching its thirtieth anniversary. The donation was entrusted to the popular canteen volunteers, who, every day, with dedication, patience and a spirit of service, prepare and distribute meals to those in need.
In addition to the donation, as is customary, the Delegation also took part in the Eucharistic celebration, in this case officiated by Father Antonio Piccolo at the Church of the Blessed Virgin of the Rosary. There, Knight of Grace Nicola Oliverio, who had been unable to attend the donation at the popular canteen, joined the aforementioned Knights and Benefactors.
The message conveyed by the Gospel reading was particularly meaningful: authentic faith knows no boundaries and does not surrender in the face of silence, rejection or difficulties. Reflecting on this message, Father Antonio Piccolo invited the representatives of the Constantinian Order to “continue bearing witness to Christian values” through concrete gestures of assistance and closeness to their neighbours.

August 2026, Reggio Calabria – The Delegation wished to renew its closeness to those experiencing difficult circumstances through a donation to the Caritas centre of the Church of the Candelora, an organisation led by its Vicar Prior, Ecclesiastical Commander of Grace, Father Luigi Cannizzo, and long committed to listening to and providing practical support for the most vulnerable individuals and families.
A simple gesture, yet one of profound significance, because true charity consists not merely in giving, but in drawing close to others, sharing and caring for our neighbours.
The donation to the Caritas centre of the Candelora thus represents not only practical assistance, but also a testament to faith put into action, solidarity and fraternity, offered by the Dames and Knights of the Calabria Delegation of the Sacred Military Constantinian Order of Saint George (SMOCSG).
This initiative aims to ensure that no one is left alone in times of need, even during the summer months.
