19.03.2025. The Calabria Delegation made an important gesture of solidarity by donating a substantial quantity of food supplies to the “Il Seme della Speranza” Family Home, located in the village of Scroforio within the municipality of Terranova Sappo Minulio (RC). This family home currently welcomes and supports 6 minors aged between 3 and 7, alongside their mothers. The donation, which also included food items dedicated to the little ones such as sweets for snacks and breakfast, was received with great gratitude by the facility’s management and the beneficiaries. Sincere thanks go to the National Association of Non-Commissioned Officers of Italy, Reggio Calabria section, for their effective contribution.
On March 2nd, the Calabria delegation made a generous donation of olive oil to the S. Anna Rest Home in Palmi, a facility that houses the elderly and people in difficulty, run by the Missionary Sisters of the Catechism.
The further donation promoted by the Crotone Representation to the “Padre Pio” Soup Kitchen for the Poor was followed by the Way of the Cross at the church of the Blessed Virgin of the Rosary of Pompeii on Friday, April 4th. Initially, around one hundred and fifty portions of lean meat and numerous packages of pasta were allocated to the diocesan facility, founded back in 1997 by Monsignor Pancrazio Limina. Subsequently, the Way of the Cross took place, and the wooden Cross was carried in procession before the fourteen representations of the relative stations of the Way of the Cross by Knights Antonio Oliverio (city Representative), Alessandro Cuomo, and Vito Michele De Caro. Knight Nicola Oliverio was also present. Furthermore, Monsignor Pancrazio Limina renewed, among future ecclesiastical ceremonies, the invitation to the Calabria Delegation to participate in the Procession of the Madonna of Capo Colonna, patroness of the city of Crotone, which will take place on May 18th.
On March 25th, in the thousand-year-old Cathedral dedicated to Santa Maria Assunta, the Representation of the City of Cosenza experienced the Jubilee as a community and commemorated the Solemnity of Saint George, Patron of the Sacred Militia. The presence of the Delegate of Calabria, Don Gianpietro dei Principi Sanseverino dei Baroni di Marcellinara, made the event even more solemn. The religious service was officiated by Monsignor Dario de Paola, chaplain of the city of Cosenza.
Vibo Valentia. On April 10th, at the ancient church of Maria SS. del Rosario and San Giovanni Battista, the Eucharistic celebration in honor of our heavenly patron Saint George the Martyr took place. The Holy Mass, celebrated by Monsignor Filippo Ramondino, chaplain of the Sacred Militia of the city of Vibo Valentia, coincided with the celebrations of the Septenary of Our Lady of Sorrows. On this occasion, a donation of basic necessities was arranged for the needy of the area.
On Saturday, April 12th at 6:00 PM at the Church of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul in Taurianova (R.C.), a representation of the Calabria Delegation participated in the Eucharistic Celebration presided over by the Parish Priest Monsignor Cesare Di Leo. After the Holy Mass, a social gathering was held in the rooms adjacent to the Church with the volunteer Association “Fraternamente”, currently involved together with the “Mammalucco” Association in the project ARTE CHE ACCAREZZA for the children of the City who have lost a parent. During this festive gathering, due to the upcoming Holy Easter of the Lord, the Delegation donated Easter eggs and stationery items to the children involved in this beautiful initiative. The Knights and Dames present were given palm and olive branches by the children, held together by a cord with a small dove, a symbol of peace and love. It was a very intense and touching moment that will not easily be forgotten.
