A prestigious appointment took place on Saturday, May 24th, at the Cathedral of Monreale: at 6:30 p.m., in the presence of H.R.H. Prince Charles of Bourbon Two Sicilies, Duke of Castro, Head of the Royal House and Grand Master, and H.R.H. Princess Beatrice of Bourbon Two Sicilies, Grand Prefect, the investiture ceremony for the new Knights and Dames of the Southern Italy Delegations was celebrated. Indeed, this special occasion involved not only the Knights and Dames of Sicily, but also those from Campania, Calabria, Apulia, and Basilicata. The ceremony was presided over by the Archbishop Emeritus of Monreale and Prior of Sicily for the Order, Monsignor Michele Pennisi.
Among those present were the Archbishop of Monreale, Monsignor Gualtiero Isacchi, also Ecclesiastical Knight Grand Cross of Grace, and Don Vittorio Rizzone, Ecclesiastical Knight Officer of Grace. Also in attendance were the various Delegates: for Sicily, Don Lucio Bonaccorsi of the Princes of Reburdone and the Noble Antonio Di Janni; for Calabria, Don Giampietro Sanseverino of the Princes Sanseverino of the Barons of Marcellinara and the Vice-Delegate, Dr. Aurelio Badolati; for Campania, the Marchioness Federica De Gregorio Cattaneo of the Princes of Sant’Elia; for Apulia, Pierfrancesco Viti of the Counts of Caraffa. The procession departed from the Church of Sant’Antonio Abate, which was entrusted to the Constantinian Knights by the Archbishop of Monreale. Following the ceremony, a convivial luncheon was held at Palazzo Francavilla.
