Crotone, April 14, 2026- The bond between the Order and the community of Crotone has been strengthened with a new donation made by the city Representation to those most in need, assisted by the “Padre Pio” soup kitchen, active in Crotone since 1997. On behalf of the Calabria Delegation, Knight of Merit Vito Michele De Caro and Knight of Grace Antonio Oliverio, city Representative, donated to the facility a quantity of 150–175 individual portions of chicken meat, along with a dessert specially prepared for the occasion.
This initiative is part of an ongoing effort of solidarity, also thanks to the attention of Monsignor Pancrazio Limina, President of the Cathedral Chapter of the Diocese of Crotone–Santa Severina and Dean of the local clergy, but above all founder of the “Padre Pio” soup kitchen, which is approaching its thirtieth anniversary since its opening.
Monsignor Pancrazio Limina also confirmed the start of the process to nominate the Feast of Madonna di Capo Colonna, Patroness of the city of Crotone, as a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage. He also renewed this year’s invitation to the traditional Marian Procession on May 17: In 2026, on the occasion of the septennial celebration, the evocative nighttime ceremony will be held with even greater solemnity, featuring the original Byzantine icon so deeply venerated in Crotone.
