On Saturday, October 7 in Vibo Valentia, at the Church of the Rosario and San Giovanni Battista, on the occasion of the celebrations for Maria Santissima del Rosario, the Knights of the Calabria Delegation participated in the Eucharistic celebration officiated by Monsignor Filippo Ramondino, Ecclesiastical Knight of Grace and chaplain of the Order for the capital city of Vibo Valentia. During the Holy Mass, the late Giuseppina Tino, wife of the meritorious Salvatore Barbieri, was remembered, and the prayer of the Constantinian Knight, Knight Officer Roberto Bendini, was read. This event has now become well-established among the initiatives of the Calabrian Constantinian Order.

On Friday, October 13, the Calabria Delegation honored the anniversary of the Marian apparition of Fatima, known as the “miracle of the sun,” by donating 60 hot meals to the Diocesan Caritas of the Candelora. The importance of the “miracle of the sun” dates back to October 30, 1950, when it occurred before Pope Pius XII, three days before the solemn proclamation of the dogma of the Assumption of Mary. The Pope interpreted the event as a sort of “approval” of the action he was about to take. The donation will serve to comfort the most needy, who cannot afford any meals, bringing them closer to the “Immaculate Heart of Mary.” The donation was made possible through the dedicated efforts of Knight Antonino Rosario Campolo.

On October 25, at the “Maria S.S. delle Grazie” Parish Caritas, a representation of Knights from the Calabria Delegation donated various basic necessities for local families in need. The Parish Priest, Don Mino Ciano, renewing his esteem for the present Brothers for their unceasing commitment, expressed great admiration for this gesture of solidarity made by the Members of the Sacred Constantinian Militia. By constantly engaging in numerous charitable activities throughout the territory, they provide a concrete testimony of the most authentic Chivalric values and ideals through their actions.

On October 28, 2023, in Castrolibero, a town on the outskirts of Cosenza, a historical reenactment in costume took place to commemorate the taking possession of the fief of Castelfranco by Pietro Antonio Sanseverino, Prince of Bisignano, which originally occurred in 1528. Over 100 historical reenactors took part in the procession which, moving through the streets of the village and its picturesque locations, brought to life through acting the highlights of the arrival of the new feudal lord and his family to the area. Upon the procession’s return in front of the Church of the SS. Salvatore, the Knights and Dames participated in the “Te Deum”. The ceremony was held in the presence of the Mayors of the two municipalities: Orlandino Greco for Castrolibero and Francesco Fucile for Bisignano. The event concluded with a performance by the flag-wavers of the Palio di Bisignano, held on the church square.
