Rome, May 8, 2020 – By mandate of His Eminence the Most Reverend Cardinal Renato Raffaele Martino, Grand Prior and Protodeacon of the Holy Roman Church, on this feast day dedicated to the Blessed Virgin Mary of Pompeii, patroness of the Constantinian Order and of the Royal House of Bourbon of the Two Sicilies, Monsignor Arnaldo Morandi, Secretary General of the Office of the Grand Prior, addresses a message to all Knights and Dames, inviting them to unite in prayer to invoke from the Mother of God and Queen of the Holy Rosary the special Graces that Italy and the entire world particularly need today.
His Eminence wishes to assure everyone of his special paternal blessing through the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary, adopting the words of the final part of the Supplication:
“One last grace we now ask of You, O Queen, which You cannot refuse us on this most solemn day. Grant all of us Your constant love and, in a special way, Your maternal blessing. We will not part from You until You have blessed us. Bless, O Mary, at this moment, the Supreme Pontiff. To the ancient splendors of Your Crown, to the triumphs of Your Rosary, for which You are called Queen of Victories, add this also, O Mother: grant triumph to Religion and peace to human Society. Bless our Bishops, our Priests, and particularly all those who zealously honor Your Shrine. Finally, bless all those associated with Your Temple of Pompeii and all those who cultivate and promote devotion to the Holy Rosary. O blessed Rosary of Mary, sweet Chain that links us to God, bond of love that unites us to the Angels, tower of salvation in the assaults of hell, safe harbor in the common shipwreck, we shall never leave You again. You will be our comfort in the hour of agony; to You our last kiss as life fades away. And the last word on our lips will be Your sweet name, O Queen of the Rosary of Pompeii, O our dear Mother, O Refuge of sinners, O Sovereign consoler of the afflicted. Blessed be You everywhere, today and always, on earth and in heaven.
