Livorno, January 27, 2025 – As every year, the Tuscany Delegation pays tribute to the Madonna of Montenero on the occasion of the Feast of the Vow. Through her intercession, she saved the city from destruction during a terrible tsunami in 1742. The celebration begins in the late afternoon in the square outside the cathedral with the recitation of the Rosary before the image of the Madonna. Once the Rosary is finished, the celebration continues inside the cathedral, packed with the faithful, with a solemn Mass presided over by the Bishop and Prior of the Tuscany Delegation, His Most Reverend Excellency Monsignor Simone Giusti. The highest local civil and military authorities also attend. The ceremony was attended by the Delegation Coordinator, Officer of Merit Knight Luciano Giannelli, and Merit Knight Federico Taccini.
