Sicily: Delegation activities January/February 2026

Enna, February 2nd, 2026- The Delegation renewed its traditional event with the project “Briciole di Salute” at the Church of San Tommaso of Enna. The parish priest of the hosting church, Don Salvatore Rindone, received essential goods for families in need, as well as clothes and toys for children from zero to three years old. The items were delivered by the Knight Commander of Merit Matteo Bertino, accompanied by the Knight Officer of Merit Alessandro Balsamo and the Knights Marco Milazzo, Claudio Fazzi and Giuseppe Mastrobuono. After the delivery, Don Rindone, grateful for the donation and the Knights’ ongoing commitment in the province of Enna, expressed words of deep appreciation for the Knights who attended, particularly those of the Grand Master Prince Carlo of Bourbon Two Sicilies, the Grand Prefect Princess Beatrice of Bourbon Two Sicilies and the Sicilian Vice Delegate, Noble Antonio di Janni, Knight Grand Cross of Grace.

Carini (PA), February 6th, 2026 – The Sicilian Vice Delegate, Noble Antonio di Janni, Knight Grand Cross of Grace, delivered several items donated by the Sicilian Delegation to Don Giacomo Sgroi, Archpriest of Carini and Ecclesiastical Knight of Grace. Don Giacomo thanked the delegation for the support provided every month to the less fortunate families of the city of Carini, ancient Diocese of Iccara, by donating diapers, baby food, and pasta as part of the “Briciole di Salute” project.

Palermo, January 6th, 2026 – Following the Epiphany Mass celebrated by the parish priest of the Costantinian Basilica of La Magione, Don Massimiliano Purpura, Ecclesiastical Knight of Grace, some Befana stockings were given to the 50 children present, with the Befana portrayed by Barbara Mendola. The Vice Delegate of Sicily, Knights Gasperino Como, Umberto Mendola, Dame Maria Lo Castro and Pasquale D’Anna were also present. For over fifteen years, the tradition of the Costantinian Befana has continued to bring moments of joy to children in an underprivileged neighborhood.

Acireale (CT), February 2nd, 2026- On the occasion of the Feast of the Presentation of Jesus at the Temple, commonly known as Candlemas, the Knights of the province of Catania attended the Holy Mass celebrated at the Basilica of San Sebastiano in Acireale. The Eucharistic rite was officiated by the Dean, Don Alessandro Di Stefano, Ecclesiastical Knight of Grace. The celebration began in the right side aisle of the basilica with a blessing of the assembly, from there a procession began, led by the Knights and followed by the clergy and the faithful, who reached the main altar in reverent silence. During the homily, Don Alessandro outlined the history of the feast, focusing on the concept of encounter: Candlemas is, in fact, the feast of the encounter between the Old and the New Testament, as well as the encounter between man and God and between human beings. Every Christian thus becomes a light to illuminate their own darkness and that of others: these are the two qualities that characterize the Constantinian Knight. Present at the rite were Knights Giuseppe Di Gregorio, Cosimo Costa, Vito Quattrocchi, and Marcello Cantone.
