Barrafranca (Enna), May 10, 2026 – A Holy Mass was celebrated in honor of Saint George the Martyr, attended by Commander of the Constantinian Order Matteo Bertino, Knight Officer Alessandro Balsamo, Knights Giovanni Paternò, Marco Milazzo, Elio Virone, Salvatore Favata, Gioacchino Borzellino, Giuseppe Mastrobuono, and Claudio Giuffrè, and Dames Giuseppina Crescimanna, Marguerite Scarpinata, and Angelica Zarba.
After a brief introduction by Knight Paternò on the figure of Saint George, Don Luigi Sansone, Chaplain of the Sacred Military Constantinian Order of Saint George, focused his homily on the importance of the Saint’s figure and his testimony to the Christian faith. “The Cross, symbol of the sacrifice of Our Lord Jesus Christ, is sewn onto the cloaks and engraved onto the insignia of Constantinian Knights and Dames to represent the distinctive sign of belief and belonging to Christ. Today, Constantinian Knights are constantly called upon to witness charity in all its forms, both material and immaterial, today just as in the past.
The Knights commit to the regular and well-known donation of food intended for families in greatest need through the “Briciole di Salute” project, carried out by the Royal House of the Two Sicilies and by the Vice Delegate, the Noble Dr. Antonio di Janni. Don Luigi also wished to recall that on this day, the most important figure is celebrated, that of the mother, emphasizing how the Virgin Mary was essential in the life of Jesus Christ. He then expressed the wish that She may protect all mothers, including those who have prematurely left this earthly life.
At the end of the celebration, Commander Matteo Bertino read the congratulatory message received from H.E. Most Reverend Cardinal Marcello Semeraro, Grand Prior of the Constantinian Order, conveying greetings from the Vice Delegate, the Noble Antonio di Janni, and H.R.H. Prince Carlo of Bourbon-Two Sicilies, Grand Master. Subsequently, Knight Paternò read the “Prayer of the Constantinian Knight.
