UNIFIL’S BLUE BRICKS FOR HOPE CAMPAIGN EXCEEDS ONE HUNDRED DONATIONS ALSO THANKS TO THE SUPPORT OF THE ITALIAN BLUE HELMETS OF THE TAURINENSE BRIGADE

A further step forward for the Blue Bricks campaign carried out by the Italian military as part of the UNIFIL Mission in southern Lebanon.

Significant contribution was made by national donors and the Nizza Cavalleria Regiment (1st) which, through donations of basic goods and materials (polyethylene water tanks) as well as sports clothing for children and footballs, provided by dozens of entities, associations, and private companies, has carried out numerous donations specifically aimed at the school sector. The donations were sponsored by the Royal House of Bourbon of the Two Sicilies and the Sacred Military Constantinian Order of Saint George, led by H.R.H. Prince Carlo of Bourbon of the Two Sicilies, Duke of Castro and Head of the Royal House.

The Dragoons of the Sector West of the Alpine Brigade Taurinense, alongside the territorial control operations fundamental to the fulfillment of the UNIFIL mission, have indeed implemented interventions in favor of the essential school sector, which has been hit by the deep economic crisis.

The intervention, aimed at enhancing the capabilities of numerous educational institutions by providing electronic and educational equipment, was developed through the coordination and organizational work of the regiment’s CIMIC (Civil-Military Cooperation) cell, based on specific guidelines provided by the technical staff of the Multinational CIMIC Group of Motta di Livenza, integrated into the Sector West command. Currently based on the Alpine Brigade Taurinense, it is under the command of Brigadier General Davide Scalabrin, Commander of UNIFIL Sector West. The contingent includes over 1,000 Italian soldiers, among whom are around 800 Alpini and Dragoons of the Taurinense, who operate alongside peacekeepers from 14 nations (including Italy): Armenia, Belarus, Brunei Darussalam, South Korea, Ghana, Ireland, Kazakhstan, North Macedonia, Malaysia, Malta, Poland, Serbia, Slovenia, Tanzania, and Hungary.
