Sicily: Delegation activities January/February 2026

Enna, February 2nd, 2026 – The Delegation renewed its traditional “Briciole di Salute” (“crumbs of health”) event at the church of San Tommaso in Enna. The parish priest of the host church, Father Salvatore Rindone, received basic necessities for needy families, including clothes and toys for children aged 0 to 3. The gifts were presented by Knight Commander of Merit Matteo Bertino, accompanied by Knight Officer of Merit Alessandro Balsamo and by Knights Marco Milazzo, Claudio Fazzi, and Giuseppe Mastrobuono. After the presentation, Don Rindone, grateful for the donation and the Knights’ ongoing commitment to the province of Enna, expressed his deepest respect for the Knights who attended the event, particularly the Knights of Grand Master Prince Charles of Bourbon-Two Sicilies, Grand Prefect Princess Beatrice of Bourbon-Two Sicilies, and the Vice Delegate for Sicily, Noble Antonio di Janni, Knight Grand Cross of Grace.

arini (PA), February 6, 2026 – The Vice Delegate of Sicily, Noble Antonio di Janni, Knight Grand Cross of Grace, presented several items donated by the Sicilian Delegation to Father Giacomo Sgroi, Archpriest of Carini and Ecclesiastical Knight of Grace. Father Giacomo thanked the delegation for their monthly support to the less well-off families of the city of Carini, formerly the Diocese of Iccara, by donating diapers, baby food, and pasta as part of the “Briciole di Salute” project.

Palermo, January 6th, 2026 – Following the Epiphany Mass celebrated by the parish priest of the Constantinian Basilica of Magione, Father Massimiliano Purpura, Ecclesiastical Knight of Grace, Befana stockings were given to the 50 children present, by Barbara Mendola, who dressed herself as the Befana. Also in attendance were the Vice Delegate of Sicily, Knights Gasperino Como and Umberto Mendola, Dame Maria Lo Castro, and the honorable Pasquale D’Anna. Thus, for over fifteen years, the tradition of the Constantinian Befana has continued, providing a moment of joy to the children of a disadvantaged neighborhood.

Acireale (CT), February 2nd, 2026 – On the occasion of the feast of the Presentation of Jesus at the Temple, commonly known as Candlemas, the Knights of the Province of Catania participated in the Holy Mass celebrated at the Basilica of San Sebastiano in Acireale. Dean Don Alessandro Di Stefano, Ecclesiastical Knight of Grace, officiated the Eucharistic rite. The celebration began in the right aisle of the basilica with the blessing of the assembly. From there, a procession led by the Knights, followed by the clergy and faithful, moved in religious silence to the high altar. During his homily, Don Alessandro outlined the history of the feast, focusing on the concept of encounter: Candlemas is, in fact, the feast of the encounter between the New and the Old Testaments, but also of the encounter between Man and God and between Men. Every Christian thus becomes a light to illuminate their own darkness and that of their neighbors: these are the two prerogatives that characterize the Constantinian Knight. Present at the rite were Knights Giuseppe Di Gregorio, Cosimo Costa, Vito Quattrocchi, and Marcello Cantone.
