
On April 26th, 2025, the world gave its last farewell to His Holiness Pope Francis. In a solemn and moving ceremony held in front of St. Peter’s Basilica, numerous religious leaders, heads of state, and representatives of royal families joined in prayer to commemorate the Roman Pontiff.
Also in attendance was H.R.H. Prince Charles of Bourbon-Two Sicilies, Duke of Castro, Head of the Royal House and Grand Master of the Constantinian Order, who paid homage to the Pontiff, representing with his participation the continuing bond between the Royal House and the Holy See. His presence underscored the profound respect that the Royal House of Bourbon Two Sicilies has always shown toward the Papacy and the Catholic Church.
After the ceremony, H.R.H. the Duke of Castro met with several internationally renowned personalities, including his cousin, H.M. King Philippe of Belgium, H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco with H.S.H. Princess Charlene, H.R.H. Prince Emanuele Filiberto of Savoy, H.M. Queen Mary of Denmark, T.R.H. the Grand Duke and Grand Duchess of Luxembourg, and French President Mr. Emmanuel Macron.
