Palermo, March 27, 2026 – The presentation of the book “Le Borboniche” by journalist and essayist Gigi Di Fiore took place in the halls of the Circolo Unione, in the presence of H.R.H. Princess Beatrice of Bourbon Two Sicilies, Grand Prefect and distinguished guest of honor of the evening.

Hosting the event were the President of the Circolo Unione, Baron of Guzman Engineer Benedetto Caffarelli and Attorney Alberto Marino, member of the club and Constantinian Knight, organizer of the event.

“Le Borboniche,” as the author explained, is a book entirely dedicated to women, recounting the lives of the consorts of the Sovereigns of Naples and Sicily first, and later of the Two Sicilies. These women were not only capable of influencing their husbands’ decisions but were also decisive in shaping the transformations of the territory and southern society.

The book opens with the portrait of H.M. Queen Maria Amalia of Saxony, daughter of Maria Josepha of Austria and Augustus III of Poland, wife of H.M. King Charles III of Bourbon, and concludes with the last Queen of Sicily, H.M. Maria Sophie of Bavaria, consort of H.M. King Francis II of Bourbon, whose centenary of death was commemorated a few months ago. At the end of the event, attendees received a commemorative medal of the evening, presented by Knight Attorney Marino.
