EMILIA-ROMAGNA: RECENT ACTIVITIES OF SEPTEMBER 2025

The Parma representation of the Sacred Military Constantinian Order of Saint George, composed of Knight Massimo Franchi and volunteer First Marshal Lieutenant Francesco Piermarini, donated essential food items to the Convent of the Discalced Carmelite Nuns in Parma, as part of their support for local religious institutions.

On the occasion of the annual celebration of the Feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross, on Tuesday, September 16th, a liturgical service was celebrated at the church of San Dalmazio in Piacenza. It was presided over by Monsignor Arnaldo Morandi, Secretary General of the Office of the Grand Prior, assisted by priests Don Stefano Antonelli, Don Davide Benini, Don Giuliano Scotton, and Don Marcello Mantellini. A message was read from the Grand Prior of the Sacred Military Constantinian Order, Cardinal Marcello Semeraro, and a message from the Prior Gianni Ambrosio, Bishop Emeritus of Piacenza-Bobbio. At the end of the Eucharistic celebration, attended by the representatives of other Orders of Chivalry as well as a large number of Dames and Knights of the Constantinian Order, Knight of Justice Count Gian Luca Mattioli Belmonte Cima and Knight Officer Dottor Pietro Coppelli, in quality of Vice Delegate for Emilia, awarded knighthoods to Brigadier General Daniele Durante, Director of the National Supply Hub in Piacenza; Brigadier General Roberto Cernuzzi, Director of the Northern Heavy Maintenance Hub and Colonel Daniele Paradiso, Commander of the Second Regiment Genio Pontieri. Professor Massimo Franchi, Parma Representative of the Constantinian Order, awarded First Marshal Lieutenant Francesco Piermarini with the Certificate of Merit in recognition of his special merits.

Ferrara, Thursday, September 18th, 2025. The Representation has made a donation to the Monastery of Sant’Antonio in Polesine, as part of its autumn initiatives. Knights Walter Chessa and Davide Zamboni, together with Knight Emanuele Chessa, in coordination with the Representative Ecclesiastical Knight Officer of Grace Don Davide Benini, thanks to their contributions and their benefactors, have delivered approximately 600 kg of long-life food products: tomato preserves, ready-made sauces, and jams. The donation was donated directly by the knights to the Monastery of Sant’Antonio in Polesine in Ferrara, where the body of Blessed Beatrice II d’Este rests. The Benedictine nuns who run the Monastery will be able to use the products, both for their own sustenance and for the needy who constantly turn to them for help.

On Saturday, September 20th, 2025, as part of a spiritual and cultural pilgrimage of the knights of the Ferrara represenation, accompanied by some family members and supporters, to the Jubilee Shrine of the Sacello of the Madonna di Cima Grappa- a Holy Mass was celebrated by Knight Father Giuliano Scotton in the Archpriest’s Church of the Purification of the Blessed Virgin Mary. At the end of the service, Knight Officer Dr. Father Davide Benini, Deputy Prior of the Delegation for Emilia-Romagna, awarded some merits to benefactors of our Constantinian Order. Two bronze medals of merit were awarded to Mr. Michele Bosi and Mrs.Patrizia Taddei and a gold medal of merit was awarded to the memory of Mr. Bruno Ardizzoni, which was collected by his nephew, Knight Davide Zamboni. Thanks to them, the Order was able to donate a medical device for the Ferrara Diocesan Caritas clinic and furnish an apartment in the diocesan S.A.V. (The Association “Servizio Accoglienza Vita”) to accommodate families with underage children in need.
