Every year the echo\nof this song fills the whole world, renewing within us a joyful hope. On the\nFace of the Christ Child, we can contemplate the gift of peace: \u201cHe is our\nPeace.\u201d (Ephesians 2:14). <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This year,\ntoo, the celebration of holy Christmas is marked by the absence of peace, wars\nafflict the whole world, Jesus\u2019 land for far too long has been bloodied\nby&nbsp; war, the death of so many innocent people, hate and rancor which seem\ndestined to continue and influence the relationship between the peoples living\nin the Holy Land. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The whole\nworld, now more than ever, needs the gift of peace, it needs peace in order to\nlive and to continue hoping in a future different, in which brotherhood wins\nout. In his encyclical letter <em>Fratelli tutti<\/em>, Pope Francis elevates this\nprayer to God the Father: \u201cI ask God \u2018to prepare our hearts to encounter our\nbrothers and sisters, so that we may overcome our differences rooted in\npolitical thinking, language, culture and religion. Let us ask him to anoint\nour whole being with the balm of his mercy, which heals the injuries caused by\nmistakes, misunderstandings and disputes. And let us ask him for the grace to\nsend us forth, in humility and meekness, along the demanding but enriching path\nof seeking peace\u2019.\u201d (<em>Fratelli tutti<\/em>, 254.) <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This\nChristmas, let us ask for this gift for each of us and our families; that there\nmay be peace in our workplaces and our surroundings. We need this Christ Child\nwhom the Angels proclaim as Savior (Luke 2:11). Without Him, all of the efforts\nto bring peace to hearts are insufficient. During these days of the Christmas\nseason, let us contemplate the great mystery of the love of God in the Child\nwho is born (Isaiah 9:5). <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This wish\nof mine is for each of you and your families. A special wish goes to our Grand\nMaster, H.R.H. Prince Charles and his Family.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">May holy\nChristmas encourage each of us to be builders and witnesses of peace, in this\nway faithful also to the Christian and human ideals of our Order.
